Jenna Contreras

Aloha, I'm Jenna, owner of The rOMing Yogi. 

My talented team of instructors and I bring the bliss, and Align the Aloha on the beautiful island of Maui!

My fitness journey began with yoga as a long-time practitioner, however, after overcoming illness, and the subsequent journey inward, I sought a meaningful way to give back to the community, and share my joy and gratitude for life with others. Inspired by the opportunity to impart empowering positivity and introspection through teaching yoga, I have found my calling! I am certified in the Fluid Yoga method at the E-RYT 200 level, grateful for having trained at Stil Studio in Boston with Kevan Gale, Betty Riaz, and Jamie Villanueva.

Additionally, I hold a certification for a restorative practice called SPA Yoga, a pampering floor-based class by candlelight, using music and aromatherapy to align practitioners with the inner wisdom of deep relaxation.

In 2017 I received my certification with Rainbow Kids Yoga. I love bringing families and community together, while providing a safe and relaxing environment for children of all ages, teens, and families a forum to release their inner child, and learn some yoga in a fun way!

I also love teaching various types of cardio classes, such as Bootcamp, Circuit and HIIT, as well as AquaFit, a challenging, yet low-impact shallow water class set to fun music!

As fitness instructors, we have a precious opportunity to make a positive impact on others, knowing that our energy, attention, and expertise may be the impetus to encourage continuing at home. 

Jordan Benge

A lifelong athlete and lover of physical activity, Jordan found yoga in 2015 and was hooked from the first class. Through a daily asana practice, she has found sanctuary on the mat, tapping into a reserve of calming energy and the transformative, healing power of the breath. As her practice has deepened, it has expanded into all areas of her life. She firmly believes that a yoga practice is a lifestyle, and that while increased strength and flexibility are but two of its benefits, its implications extend far beyond the physical realm.

 

Yoga is a way of revealing and celebrating the divinity within and all around us.


Fascinated by the transformative potential of this sacred science and eager to immerse herself in spiritual study, Jordan completed her 200 hour teacher training in Bali with the Anusara School of Hatha Yoga, where she deepened her grasp of pranayama, the foundations of the yogic tradition and philosophy, her meditation practice, and alignment principles. Jordan is honored to be able to share the gift of yoga with her students.

Jules Gard

Jules is a certified Somatic & Vinyasa Flow Yoga instructor, and Reiki Master-Teacher. She is a practitioner of Sound Vibration Medicine and has a BA in Communications from CSULB. Jules continues her study of Movement as Medicine through Continuum Movement, offering her wealth of knowledge to students at Island Spirit Yoga studio in Lahaina, and at resorts on West Maui.

Cristina Solorio

Cristina is an American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified personal trainer, with additional certification credentials from UC Berkeley. For over 21 years, Cristina has been assisting clients in achieving health and fitness goals. Recognizing that each client is vastly different from the other, she customizes her training programs according to her client’s personal needs, and takes strengths, weaknesses, physical abilities, prior history, activity preferences, and personal goals into consideration.

 

"My passion is imparting a healthy lifestyle and body image to my clients, and motivating them to maintain these habits through their lifetime."

 

As an avid runner, Cristina has coached runners of all levels, and specializes in teaching beginners to master the sport so that they can maximize their efforts. Cristina has competed in National Physique Committee (NPC) figure competitions, has amateur boxing experience, has played in various local softball teams, and is a professional salsa dancer. She uses these experiences to provide a variety of customized curriculums. In addition, these diverse activities allow her to add variety to her workout sessions. Cristina is also certified in TRX Group Suspension Training and TRX Functional Training; Rocktape Fascial Movement Taping Level 1 and 2; PiYo Live, and is a Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach.

Erika Thomason

Erika discovered yoga in 2004 as a supplement to her marathon training. A perfectionist at heart, it was the physical practice of yoga that exposed her own self-sabotaging ways of thinking and how these habits were preventing her from living a life of joy.

 

“Every day I get on the mat, I learn something new about my Self. My body moves. My breath flows. My energy shifts and my mind and heart open. That’s the pure, subtle power of yoga.”

Combining her love of alignment-based Vinyasa Flow with intelligent sequencing, Erika playfully encourages her students to safely dive in and move through the darker recesses of their bodies and minds to find the true center of who they are and what they have to offer to the world.

Becca Coren

From the fast-paced streets of major American cities to the tranquil islands of South Asia, the past decade of Becca’s professional wellness journey has spanned across the globe. Highly skilled and holding an array of diverse certifications, Becca mindfully infuses her expertise with humor-spiked compassion to create fun and safe programming for her group classes and unique prescriptions for individuals in private sessions.

Becca holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, Antigravity Fitness and Yoga FUNdamentals 1 & 2, STOTT Pilates, AFAA Group Fitness and AFAA Kickboxing. She’s also spent a substantial amount of time training and working abroad, graduating Distinctive First in her class and earning two diplomas in Yoga Education and Yoga Therapy from Yoga Vidya Gurukal and the Bihar School of Yoga in Nasik, India; RYT-200 from Anna Sugarman Vinyasa Flow in Koh Samui, Thailand; and Therapeutic Thai Massage from Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

 

Her passion for healthy living led her to start her own wellness business, where she had the opportunity to connect on a deeper level with her clients by empowering them to make holistic changes for overall health and wellbeing. She is continually sought after to share her knowledge by collaborating with some of the most respected teachers in the industry on retreats and workshops throughout Asia, Europe and the United States.

Tasha Anderson

Tasha ventured from a small town in Tennessee to the beaches of North Carolina to discover life on her own in 2014. In the sanctuary of her own home, she found the yoga and meditation practice, and after two years of youtube yoga videos, and reading as many books as she could find, she finally went to her first studio class. The class was a vinyasa hot flow, and she didn’t just get in a workout, she felt connection. Connection of her mind, body, spirit, and the energy of others practicing together in perfect harmony. She was instantly captivated.

After a year of yoga in a studio setting, she moved to Maui, continuing to practice on her own, however feeling unfulfilled.

One day, she realized that nothing could satisfy like being able to share her love of yoga and breath with the world.

A few months later, Tasha received her 200hr YTT with ULU yoga in Ubud, Bali. Since returning, she has been teaching community yoga around the beaches of Maui.

Demi Fisher

This friendly Denver native has been super active in outdoor activities and group sports from a young age. Her fun-loving family raised a natural athlete, encouraging involvement in various activities such as volleyball, and hiking in the mountains. It’s no surprise that this emphasis on physical fitness, and affinity for the great outdoors has segued to a life of sharing her passion of teaching group fitness on Maui!

Demi began her career at Marriott Vacation Club in Lake Tahoe, where she shared her love of outdoor activities with visitors, forming special connections while leading them in nature hikes, and other recreational activities. Moving to West Maui she has become entrenched in the fitness world, expanding her repertoire in group fitness to include various formats such as boot camp, HIIT, and Aqua Fit classes for various Marriott properties along Ka’anapali beach. 

I found a love for connecting with people while in the outdoors, and can't wait to see where my fitness journey takes me!
